    Adult Evaluations

Adults that come in for testing often have a specific concern. Questions such as “do I have ADHD?” “Why can’t I control my anxiety?” “Is this depression or something else?” Sometimes the concern is less clear, but you feel like something is “off” or wrong. At times, adults request a re-evaluation of symptoms or concerns when they feel previous diagnoses do not fit. All adult evaluations begins with the initial interview to determine how I can best answer your questions.

My goals when providing an evaluation for an adult are:

    • Determine YOUR questions and concerns
    • Consider the history and current presentation of your symptoms
    • Provide an accurate diagnosis
    • Prepare individualized treatment recommendations
    • Document your diagnosis for you to obtain access to treatment such as therapy or medication

You are the expert on your own life and your own needs. Through the evaluation process, we can work together to find your next steps for symptom improvement. I assess for adult mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, Autism, and ADHD.

    Evaluation Process for Adults

Initial Meeting: All evaluations begin with an initial interview and consultation. This can occur in person or via telehealth. We will discuss your questions and concerns as well as what you are hoping to gain from the testing process. In this meeting, we will review the intake questionnaire and I will gather detailed information about your history. This appointment takes approximately 1 hour.

Questionnaires: Depending on your concerns and questions, self-report rating scales and questionnaires will be provided. These assessment tools are essential in gaining comprehensive information regarding your personality, mood, and behavior. Assessment tools selected will be reflective of your individual testing needs.

Testing Sessions: Adult testing may be conducted via tele-health or in office, depending on the reason for testing and the client’s access to tools required for tele-health assessment (ex. laptop or desktop computer, headphone, microphone, and privacy).

Testing appointments vary in length from 1-3 hours. The appointment times will be discussed prior to scheduling.

Feedback Meeting: I will meet with you via telehealth or in the office to discuss the results of your testing. This meeting will occur approximately two weeks after the final testing session. This is an opportunity for you to better understand the testing results, discuss recommendations in greater depth, and answer any remaining questions. This appointment is scheduled for 1 hour.

Comprehensive Psychological Report: You will receive your comprehensive psychological report approximately two weeks after the final testing session. This is typically provided shortly after or during the feedback session.

Follow-up Support: The evaluation fee includes support by phone, email, and telehealth to assist you in implementing the recommendations and finding well-matched treatment providers. If desired, I will also work with existing treatment providers to communicate results.
